Yuki:
I was born in Japan - hence my name - and grew up there, as well as in the UK, USA and on Ærø. I got my Master’s degree in corporate law & economics at Copenhagen Business School and worked for a film company for a couple of years before I moved back to Ærø in 2013 to work with my sister, Louise, who had started Danish Island Weddings 5 years earlier. I am now in charge of the day-to-day administration of DIW and absolutely love working with our small team creating an unforgettable experience for our couples!
I live with my English husband, Michael, and our Ukranian rescue dog, Ivana. I like people, long walks, and football, but my true passion is singing and I still play the occasional gig when I have the time.
Louise:
I just love weddings, I really do! I started Danish Island Weddings in 2008, the first wedding agency on Ærø island. One by one my whole family and several of my friends joined the team and I think this close-knit dynamic is why we are still here after 16 years! I always knew that Ærø was a very special place, and the most perfect wedding location, because it has a calm romantic style and charm I have never found anywhere else.
I spent my childhood and youth in Ghana and Japan. But my family are from Ærø, and can be traced back here for many generations. The island has always been home to us and - like the swallows - we returned every summer.
I have worked as a cabin attendant for Japan Airlines and started my first business importing candles and other stylish Danish stuff to the UK, where I lived for 12 years. I married John Moloney (we call him Moloney) in Vicenza, Italy in 2000 and we have lived in both England, Italy, Germany and Belgium with our 2 boys, Max & Charlie, before we settled on Ærø for good.
Anna:
I grew up in Ghana and Japan and worked as a flight attendant for JAL based in the UK - Louise and I even flew together a few times. I married an American and now live in the States. My two children are now both grown up, so although I am no longer part of the DIW team on a day to day level, I spend as much time as I can on Ærø, and help my sisters out whenever I am there.
I love languages and I try to keep my Japanese up to date.
Moloney:
When Louise and I got married, I had no idea she was nurturing a secret plan to make Ærø the wedding centre of the world. So my plans to golf, fish and hike were put on hold for a bit. I grew up in Sussex, and got a Master's degree in PPE at Oxford University before joining the RAF. I flew Tornadoes and Jaguars, and then ended up as the Air Attache in the UK Embassy in Berlin, and finally as a staff officer in NATO HQ. For the weddings, my 30 years of military training come in handy for opening bottles of Moet and officiating the occasional vow renewal, although my main jobs are accounting and invoicing.

Mira:
I grew up here on Ærø, and moved off the island to train as a beautician in Copenhagen. Moloney insists that I mention that I was also a finalist in Denmark's Next Top Model, but that was years and years ago!
I started working for DIW in 2013 as a makeup artist but am now mainly in charge of floral arrangements, styling and helping out wherever it is needed. I love plants and flowers and all things natural. Alongside my duties in DIW I have my own holistic skin care and wellness salon. And I love my varied work day.
I had my very own Danish Island Weddings - wedding in August 2017 when I married my long-term partner Stefan, and between us we have 4 children.
Camilla:
We recently welcomed photographer and gardener, Camilla Jørvad, to the team. We have known and worked with her for over 15 years, and we are really excited about working more closely with her in 2024. Camilla was best known as one of Scandinavia’s top destination wedding photographers, but she “retired” from weddings in 2018.
She now uses her incredible creative talents and eye for beauty by growing organic seasonal flowers on her farm exclusively for our bouquets and arrangements, and handling the behind-the-scenes and visual side of our website, SoMe and brand in general.
Neli:
Neli is our British-born photographer, a professional for over a decade who now divides her time between Denmark and the UK. She has been friends with Louise for over 20 years and, when on Ærø, works exclusively with Danish Island Weddings to help make our couples’ big day unforgettable. A quick look at Neli’s work is all you need to see why so many of our clients choose her to document their day. Neli very much has her own style of wedding photography, combining her technical expertise with a uniquely creative visual capability. Boundless energy and a genuine love for what she does are just two of Neli’s many personal qualities.
Lone:
Lone (mother to Louise, Anna and Yuki) helps with just about everything – not least by arranging the flowers in the Wedding Room and providing her beautiful beach house for beach weddings. She may be the only qualified Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arranging) teacher in Denmark. You are likely to bump into her during your stay, either as your witness or running errands, and generally being busy in the Old Merchants House, where she is considered everyone’s Mummy! She herself was happily married for 45 years to Frederik (a true Ærø boy), until he passed away in 2011. They were an adventurous couple, travelling the world, and then finally settling back home on Ærø in 1992.
